Sausage Making in Joe’s Butchers
At the end of 5th class all the children in our class entered a competition in Joe’s butchers. In September we were told that Ellen, J.C and Kane’s recipe ideas were chosen to be made into sausages. We got the chance to make to make our sausages in the shop. It was great fun mixing the ingredients and piping it into sausages. The mixture was very cold. We each got a large container of sausages to take home. We had to wait one day to let the sausages set before we cooked them. They were delicious.
At the end of November we were told the great news that Ellen’s Breakfast Sausage had won the Junior All Ireland Sausage Competition. It had pieces of bacon ,egg and black pudding in it. Joe and his staff came into the school to present Ellen with an award and vouchers. Joe brought in lots of cooked breakfast fry sausage for all the class and staff to try out.
