Players: James, James, Josh, Adam, Nathan, Jay, Harry and David

On 11th of May our school 5-a-side team represented Ulster in the Spar FAI 5-a-side All Irelands. We left for the Aviva Stadium at 7.00am and stopped about half way there for a bite to eat. We arrived at the Aviva at about 11.15. First we went to the stands and watched a few matches before heading to the dressing rooms. Our first match kicked off at 12.15 against the winners out of Connacht, Galway. The match was close; we went 1-0 up thanks to a great header pass by Adam through to Nathan who lobbed the keeper. As the game progressed the other team continued to press and eventually scored to equalise. We threw everything at them but unfortunately they nicked a goal to make it 2-1. It was very disappointing. We had a bit of a rest before our second game against Meath who were representing Leinster. They were a good side, but we went 1-0 up before they pulled one back. A free kick from David sent us 2-1 up, however they scored a few more to win 4-2. Disappointing, but we were focused on our next game against Cork, representing Munster. Jay gave us the lead but they equalised quickly. After a while Adam scored a free kick to put us 2-1 up. Same situation for the next goal, Adam scored a free kick that was beautifully struck into the bottom corner. The game ended 3-1, a great win. Overall it was an amazing experience for us and a day we will never forget. Thanks to Mr Friel and Owen for being with us through the journey.
