On Proclamation Day the 15^th of March 2016 John D. Ruddy came into Lurgybrack NS to talk to the two 6^th classes about the 1916 Easter Rising. John is an actor and a historian. He makes Youtube videos about history e.g. Easter Rising. He has had over 4 million views in total. He showed us a video he made for 1916. He worked his way from the coming of the Normans in 1169 to the 1916 Rising. As he spoke we learned new facts about the Rising that we had not known before.  It was an hour and a half long but we all enjoyed it in the end. We had a Questions and Answers session when the video had finished. When he left the school he travelled to be in a two man drama show in Belfast. We really enjoyed his performance and talk about the 1916 Easter Rising.
