On Wednesday 11th of May, children from 1st class and up were chosen to represent Lurgybrack NS in Finn Valley Athletics. Around 50 children were taking part on the day from our school. Mr. Reynolds and Dervil accompanied us and told us what to do and where to go. It was a little showery which was surprising because the previous few days were lovely. When we had arrived it was still drizzling. We placed our bags on steps and got ourselves ready for our activities. The running was the first event. As the children took to the track others stayed at our base and cheered. After a while the rain cleared up and got much warmer. Everyone had almost all their activities done. Other than running some people had shot put, high jump, javelin and long jump. I did running and the shot put. In the shot put you hold a metal ball just below your ear and throw. Even though I didn’t do well I had a great time and congratulations to all who did well and those who didn’t do well, you tried your best and well done.
